"Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!" -Psalm 139:23-24
Contentment and Jelly
Lately I have been very convicted of being content with where God has me in my life. He has set before me the things I need to concentrate on right now...instead of letting my thoughts drift away into the future and think on things that haven't even come my way. Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." It's hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that our Almighty Maker has planned every moment of my life out, down to my very last breath. He placed every hair on my head and every thought in my mind. What an amazing God! Trust and contentment...they always go together...like oreos and cold milk, or peanut butter and jelly. I can't imagine how anyone could be content in God without putting their trust in Him as well. It can't be done! Being content is saying "Okay God, I am handing it all over to you. Any situations that come my way, hard or easy, good or bad, it's all yours. I'm trusting you!" How amazing our God is, that he becomes a shelter for us at any given time. Thank you LORD!
